Thank you for your interest in Events.com Inc., a California corporation (the “Company”). This Privacy and Data Protection Policy (the “Policy”) explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information, and describes your rights and choices regarding that information. Events.com (“we,” “our,” or “us”) values your privacy and is committed to transparency in how we handle your data. By accessing or using our Services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy. Your continued use of the Services is subject to this Policy as permitted by applicable law.

This Privacy Policy applies to all products, websites, mobile applications, software, and services offered by Events.com, including the Events.com marketplace, Discover, Operabase, event registration services, organizer tools, mobile applications, customer support services, and any related services that link to or reference this Privacy Policy, unless a separate privacy notice applies. Because our products serve different audiences, Events.com may act in different privacy roles depending on the service being used. In some situations we act as the data controller (or business under U.S. privacy laws), while in others we process personal information solely on behalf of event organizers or other business customers acting as independent controllers.

1. What is and is not covered? This Policy also outlines how information is disclosed as well as steps taken to protect such information. In the broadest terms, our customers include anyone who utilizes our Services (“Users,” “you,” “your”). Users can be separated into: (a) customers who utilize our Services in order to promote, market, sell and run an event (“Event Organizer”); and (b) customers who utilize our Services in order to find, register and participate in events (“Event Goer”). Company acts as a data controller with respect to personal information processed for its own business purposes and as a data processor when processing personal information on behalf of Event Organizers in accordance with their instructions. Event Organizers act as independent controllers of attendee information collected in connection with their events.
   1. NOTE! This Policy does not apply to, and the Company is not responsible for, the collection or use of data by Event Organizers or other third parties who use our Services to gather information. We do not control their privacy practices, and you should review their individual privacy policies and contact them directly with any questions. This Policy also does not cover information collected by us offline, through other means, or by any third-party websites, applications, or content linked to or accessible from our Services. Some products and services require additional privacy information that we will issue before the collection of your personal information. These may include job applicants, employees, or contractors. Also, not all the information herein will be directly applicable to you. Event Organizers are solely responsible for compliance with applicable privacy laws for personal information they collect or control. This Policy is incorporated into and forms part of the Company’s Terms of Use. Capitalized terms used but not defined in this Policy have the meaning given to them in Company Terms of Use.
2. Information Collected from Users. We collect personal information directly from you, automatically through your use of our Services, from Event Organizers, from service providers, from third-party integrations, and from publicly available sources where permitted by law. The categories of personal information we collect depend upon the products and Services you use, your interactions with us, your privacy choices, and applicable law. We may collect the following categories of information:
   1. Account and Identity Information: Name, username, display name, email address, telephone number, mailing address, organization or employer, account credentials, authentication information, profile photograph, account preferences, language preferences, communication preferences.
   2. Event Registration Information. Information relating to events you create, organize, browse, register for, attend, sponsor, volunteer for, or otherwise interact with, including: Registration records, ticket purchases, attendance history, event check-in information, waitlists, cancellations, refunds, transfers, invitations, event preferences, accessibility accommodations voluntarily provided by you, communications with event organizers.
   3. Payment and Transaction Information. Information relating to purchases and payments, including: Billing address, payment method type, payment token, transaction identifiers, purchase history, invoices, receipts, and tax information where required. Payment card numbers are processed directly by our payment processors and are not stored by Events.com except as permitted by applicable law or payment-card standards.
   4. Discover Activity. When you use Discover or other personalized features, we may collect information regarding your interactions with recommendations and content, including: Searches, search history, events viewed, organizers viewed, artists viewed, venues viewed, pages visited, saved events, favorites, likes, follows, recommendations selected, recommendation feedback, browsing history within Discover, clicks, engagement metrics, categories of interest, and event preferences.
   5. Operabase Activity. If you use Operabase or related performing arts products, we may collect information relating to: Artist searches, production searches, venue searches, favorites, bookmarked performances, editorial interactions, public profile activity, subscriptions, and communications. Additional product-specific notices may apply.
   6. Device, Internet and Network Information. We automatically collect certain technical information, including: IP address, browser type, browser version, operating system, device identifiers, advertising identifiers, mobile device identifiers, referring URLs, exit URLs, pages viewed, clickstream data, crash reports, log files, session identifiers, and network connection information.
   7. Location Information. Depending upon your settings and applicable law, we may collect: Approximate location derived from IP address, GPS location, device location, location history while using our mobile applications, and regional preferences. You may disable precise location permissions through your device settings.
   8. Communications. We collect information contained in communications with us, including: Customer support requests, emails, chat messages, surveys, feedback, reviews, social media communications, and telephone recordings where permitted by law.
   9. AI and Interactive Features. If you interact with AI-assisted features, chatbots, recommendation tools, or similar technologies, we may collect: Prompts, uploaded files, uploaded images, uploaded documents, generated responses, user feedback, interaction history, timestamps, technical metadata, and conversation identifiers. Users should avoid submitting confidential, proprietary, or sensitive information unless specifically requested for the applicable Service.
   10. User Content. We may collect content you voluntarily submit, including: Photographs, videos, reviews, comments, forum posts, Discover posts, event descriptions, organizer content, profile information, and social interactions.
   11. Commercial Information. Information regarding: Products purchased, subscriptions, memberships, promotions redeemed, contests entered, donation history, sponsorship activity, and purchase preferences.
   12. Marketing Information. Information relating to marketing preferences, including: Newsletter subscriptions, promotional preferences, advertising interactions, campaign responses, and referral information.
   13. Information Received From Third Parties. We may receive information from: Event Organizers, payment processors, authentication providers, social login providers, analytics providers, advertising partners, fraud prevention providers, identity verification providers, publicly available sources, and business partners.
   14. Inferences. We may derive inferences regarding your: Interests, entertainment preferences, event preferences, travel interests, purchasing preferences, geographic preferences, and engagement patterns. These inferences may be used to personalize content, recommendations, search results, and user experiences.
3. Information We Collect Automatically. When you access or use the Services, we may automatically collect certain information about your device and usage, including: IP address and approximate geographic location; device type, operating system, browser type, and language preferences; pages viewed, links clicked, referring and exit pages, and interaction data; and date and time of access and related log information. We collect this information using cookies, pixels, web beacons, and similar tracking technologies. These technologies help us operate the Services, understand usage trends, improve performance, and support security and fraud prevention. You may manage cookie preferences through your browser settings or, where available, through our cookie consent tools. Where required by law, we honor applicable consent signals, including Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals.
4. Information We Receive from Event Organizers and Third Parties. We may receive personal information about you from third parties in connection with your use of the Services, including: Event Organizers, when you register for or attend an event hosted through our platform; Payment processors, such as Stripe, in connection with transaction verification and fraud prevention (we do not receive full payment card numbers); Service providers, such as analytics, security, or customer support providers that assist us in operating the Services; and Publicly available sources, where permitted by law. We use information received from third parties only for purposes consistent with this Privacy Policy and applicable law. Event Organizers act as independent controllers of personal information they collect in connection with their events and are responsible for their own privacy practices.
5. How We Use Your Information. We use your personal information to provide, operate, maintain, and improve our Services; create and manage your account; process event registrations, ticket purchases, payments, refunds, donations, subscriptions, and other transactions; facilitate communications between users, Event Organizers, and other participants; personalize your experience by providing tailored content, recommendations, search results, event suggestions, and notifications; operate Discover, Operabase, and other product features; provide customer support; communicate with you regarding your account, events, security, legal notices, newsletters, and promotional communications; analyze usage trends, conduct research and analytics, develop and improve products and services, test new features, and measure performance; utilize artificial intelligence and machine-learning technologies to improve search functionality, recommendations, fraud detection, content moderation, accessibility, and customer support; process prompts, uploaded content, responses, feedback, and related interaction data when you use AI-assisted features; verify identities; detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, spam, and other malicious activity; protect the rights, property, safety, and security of Events.com, Event Organizers, users, and others; comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal processes, contractual obligations, and accounting or tax requirements; market and advertise our Services, administer promotions and contests, measure the effectiveness of marketing campaigns, and deliver personalized advertising where permitted by law; administer our business, maintain records, conduct audits, enforce agreements, resolve disputes, and support corporate transactions; develop, evaluate, validate, and improve our Services, including using aggregated, anonymized, or de-identified information to improve machine-learning models and recommendation systems; and process your personal information for other purposes with your consent or as otherwise permitted or required by applicable law.
6. How We Share Your Information. We may disclose your personal information to provide and operate the Services, including with Event Organizers, affiliated companies, subsidiaries, service providers, payment processors, fraud prevention providers, customer support providers, cloud hosting providers, analytics providers, authentication and identity verification providers, marketing and advertising partners, communications providers, technology vendors, professional advisors, auditors, insurers, financial institutions, and other vendors that perform services on our behalf. We may disclose information to facilitate event registration, ticketing, payment processing, customer support, personalization, recommendations, analytics, fraud detection, security, and other operational purposes. We may also disclose personal information to comply with applicable laws, regulations, court orders, subpoenas, governmental requests, or other legal processes; to enforce our Terms of Service or other agreements; to investigate or prevent fraud, abuse, security incidents, or illegal activity; to protect the rights, property, and safety of Events.com, Event Organizers, users, or others; and in connection with an actual or proposed merger, acquisition, financing, asset sale, bankruptcy, reorganization, or other corporate transaction. We may disclose aggregated, anonymized, or de-identified information that cannot reasonably be used to identify you for research, analytics, reporting, product improvement, or other lawful business purposes. We do not sell your personal information in exchange for monetary consideration. Where applicable law defines certain advertising or analytics activities as a “sale,” “sharing,” or “targeted advertising,” we will provide the rights and choices required by applicable law, including the ability to opt out where required.
7. Cookies, Analytics, and Similar Technologies. Our Services are not directed to children under the age required by applicable law, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children without appropriate authorization where required.
